SHELTER LISTINGS
From Kentucky Petz Magazine Publishers:
After you've taken a look at the other videos, please take a look at the video below.  It tells of the harsh realities of those animals left behind and not adopted. This video promotes petfinder.com, which in turn promotes most of our shelters in Kentucky.  You can find adoptable pets at your local shelters and rescues by searching your zip code.  You will be shown photos of pets in need of rescue from shelters in your own zip code and those nearby.  Most of our local shelters & rescues keep an updated list with photos and information about the pets they have available for adoption on petfinder, many with an "urgent" status.
I recently found my new 'best friend" at a Kentucky shelter by browsing www.petfinder.com.  It has been a blessing, and I highly recommend that you regularly browse the pages of petfinder.com.  I wasn't even looking for a pet, just browsing the pictures as I often do.  She had only a few days left.  Her photo touched my heart.  I feel that it was fate that "she found me"

NANA'S RESCUE
Nana was not quite one year                                                     old  when I got the call
"They are going to  shoot that
beautiful St Bernard up the road if
you don't come get her now!"
It seems some neighbors up the
road had purchased Nana and
roceeded to try to raise her in their
home with no guidance, so of course
she did what any dog would do....she
used the restoom on the floor and,
due to her size  he knocked things
overand generally got in their way.
So I jumped in my van and raced to
get to the place where this beautiful dog was awaiting her death by gunshot.
When I arrived she seemed to know
she was rescued and was quite eager to climb into my van and go home with me.  Yes, she was unruly when she arrived at my home, wanting to jump my picket fence into the yard with
my small dogs. She wanted to jump up on everyone and do her favorite thing; putting your complete hand into
her large mouth and walk along side of the person who's hand she held so lightly in her strong jaws.
After a few weeks Nana was no longer jumping over the fence or on people. She loves the other outside dogs
which have also been rescued. One day soon we'll start looking for her forever home but for now she is safe
here on the farm, far away from a  person with a gun that held the bullet that would have ended this beautiful life.
